SUU Graduation

On May 2nd Jason had an awards ceremony for being the Outstanding Student in History Education.  He called it a "Smart Award."  It was a pretty nice evening, although some of the introductions were long winded.  The food was pretty good and we got to enjoy and evening with our parents.

On Friday, May 3rd Jason and I drove up for his Convocation.  Yay for graduating!!! I left Jason at the parade start and got a seat. It was a little weird being alone and I didn't see Jason when he came in. I did find him before it started though. The speakers were very entertaining, especially Rabbi Shmuley.  There was also an old golfer who spoke.  The college President, Pres. Benson was also leaving his position at the college so the program highlighted some of his memories there.

Since Jason had his history department graduation the next day, I surprised Jason with a hotel so we didn't have to drive home and back again.  We checked into the hotel and then had dinner at a Japanese Steakhouse. We did habachi and it was delicious.....the leftovers didn't smell too fantastic though and brought on quite a few gags.

On Saturday the family came up and watched Jason walk with his department.  It was short and sweet....well as short and sweet as a graduation can be.  After the program, we went to Sizzler for dinner and then some of us went to Discovery Park afterwards.  It was a great weekend.
