First Days in San Diego: May 24-25, 2013

We made our way to San Diego for our first ever "real vacation" as a family.  All of our vacations growing up were camping and visiting family, so it was nice to get away together somewhere new.  What better place to do that than at the beach!  Mom and Dad booked us a Worldmark Timeshare at Mission Valley. The location was perfect!  Just minutes from the beach and everything else.

Jason and I drove Janny, Hope and Lexie. We met up with Tara, Colby, Gavin and Ava in Vegas for lunch and the headed the rest of the way. Mom, Dad and the boys weren't far behind.

When we finally got checked in and got the room situation sorted out, we had a little pool time.  After the pool, we were itching to get to the beach, so most of us headed to Ocean Beach while everyone else relaxed at the rooms. We didn't have any groceries for dinner so we just headed to Wendy's and ate it on the beach. It was awesome and we all loved the beach.  On a little bit of a scary side note...Caleb got pulled into a rip tide while he was out in the water with Jason and Colby and couldn't get out of it, so one of the lifeguards had to pull him out.  He was bummed it was a bald old man and not a cute girl :)  The next day while Mom and Dad went to pick up Leah and Finn at the airport, we went to the beach again and had a great time.

That night, all of us girls and mom made our way to Walmart, uneventfully.  The way home was a different story.  We had 3 GPS units telling us 3 different ways to get back to the hotel....poor Tara couldn't catch a break.  We were seriously laughing so hard that we could barely see. I think the guys thought we were dead when we didn't show up for a really long time and they didn't understand what in the world we were laughing about.
