Jason's Almost Last First Day of School

Jason had his almost very last first day of school for SUU on August 27th.  He has to finish up this semester with a thesis paper and a couple of Praxis tests and then he will be ready for student teaching in January! We can't wait.

We did have a little bit of a scare with his thesis paper class. He signed up to take the class from Prof. Vlasich and he was told they would only meet 4 to 5 times the entire semester. The classes would be on either Monday or Wednesday from 3:00 to 5:00.  When he went to the class on Monday he was shocked to find out that Vlasich had retired and left his class to another teacher. This new teacher was making the class meet both class periods each week through October. He was also making them read a textbook and take quizzes on it in addition to writing their thesis paper. This new schedule won't work with Jason's coaching. They practice each day from 3 to 5. Meeting 4 to 5 times during the semester would have worked.  He was really disappointed and scared.  We didn't know what to do.  We wrote the new teacher an email explaining the situation. To our surprise he was very understanding and suggested that we find a teacher who would be willing to mentor him through independent study of that class so he can still meet the requirements for the course without having to be in class. This is definitely a huge blessing and a prayer answered.
