Camping at Pine Valley

On the spur of the moment we decided we were going to camp at Pine Valley.  Miraculously, we both ended up having the time and were able to camp for 2 nights, June 4th-6th.  our car was packed to the brim so we decided that we MUST have a truck before our next camping trip.  It was a bit windy and chilly for me but Jason loved it.  It was weird feeling like grown-ups, setting up our own little camp, cooking meals for ourselves and staying up to make sure the camp fire was put out.

We need a truck.....we were packed to the brim.

Our Camp
We relaxed most of the day on Monday after we got set up.  We played some games, colored in coloring books, did Sudoku and crossword puzzles and took a nap.  It was very relaxing.  We made dutch oven potatoes and chicken for the first time ever and my parents and little brothers came up and shared the meal with us.  We all had a good time and even got to eat S'mores.  That night was really windy after my family left so we ended up playing cards in the tent.

Meal for the Family YUMMY

When we woke up on Tuesday morning we found out that some little creature had stolen the rolls, a loaf of bread and out marshmallows!  We were ticked.  We found the empty bags near our campsite and figure it must have been a raccoon because of how big the tote was that had the food in it.  It was a good thing we had S'mores the night before and that the small store in Pine Valley had bread we could buy so we could have french toast.  After the fiasco with the food, we went on a walk to the reservoir and then napped before dinner.  We made tin foil dinners and they turned out great.  Since we didn't get to have S'mores again we toasted a milky way bar and put it between graham crackers and it was delicious.

Darn rodents!

Wednesday came too fast and we had to get packed up. Jason worked at noon and I got called in to work at 11.  We had a great trip and are looking forward to another one.
