This pregnancy has flown by! I am feeling really good and still working full time. I continued to run and workout at the gym and with my mom until about 25 weeks when I couldn't keep my heart rate down. I haven't gained very much weight so that hasn't been a concern. I figure I get plenty of exercise with all the walking and lifting I do at work. We have been busy with a family vacation to Red Canyon and the Bryce Canyon Half Marathon and 5K. Jason has football camp July 8-11. He has been so helpful even though he is busy. When I get home from work sore and tired, he makes it a point to let me relax and he rubs my feet and back if they are tired. He is also really great at making sure I have plenty to eat and drink . He has really taken good care of me.
I have always felt McKay moving around a lot. He is a very active baby, but I got to see a visible kick/punch or whatever on the morning of July 24th - 23 weeks 2 days. It was huge! My whole belly shook while I was lying on the couch. It was the coolest thing.
At my appointment on July 25 - 23 weeks 3 days I had 3+ protein in my urine. The doctor didn't really know what it was and he had never seen that color on a pee strip before. I was't having any pain. McKay's heart rate was in the 130s but he couldn't really find him and I was measuring 25. He sent me for some more labs and the tests came back that I was having a very serious kidney infection and to start on antibiotics right away. He said that if I wouldn't have found the infection, I could have gone septic and died. Yeah that was scary. I took the antibiotics for 7 days and everything cleared up. That day, before I got the lab results, I was a nervous wreck and while I was working, McKay wasn't moving at all. It was crazy. I worked myself up about it with the dr not knowing what was going on and then him not moving, so I got an ultrasound to check and make sure he was still moving. Apparently he was just sleeping all day, because as soon as they started scanning, he started moving like crazy. Whew! I was very very very relieved. It was so nice to get to see my little guy though.
Here is the progress at 23 weeks:
Oh yeah, one big mistake I made last week was going to see Tuacahn's Mary Poppins on July 31st. It was so hot and my feet were swelling so bad I thought they were going to explode! My saving grace was a water bottle full of ice for my feet. I also had a mug full of ice water and I kept resting it on my belly but baby kept trying to kick it off. Jason about jumped out of his seat when I showed him! :) Being pregnant is awesome, even if you swell up to the size of a whale!
