I had to work at 7am on Christmas so we ended up going to bed pretty early. The alarm clock went off at 5am and it still didn't feel like Christmas. Originally we weren't going to do presents this year but couldn't resist. We wrapped some boxes of things we bought and used a few months earlier but didn't realize really how much stuff was under the tree. The one big thing that surprised Jason was an Ipod Touch. He was very shocked. Jason bought some great gifts for me as well, including a jewelry box, some cute pajamas and slippers and a sewing machine! After opening presents we made some breakfast and I headed to work. Jason had church at 11am and then singing with his family at 1pm so he wasn't home alone too much. Work didn't end up being too bad but I still wish I would have been with Jason the whole day. I tried to upload the video of Jason opening his Ipod but it won't work. Just trust me when I say that it was priceless.
As soon as I got off work we headed to the Gough's so we could be there when Chad call from his mission in Pennsylvania. It was really good to talk to him again. Some days we will say or do something and then feel sad and miss him a lot. He will be home for next Christmas though. After talking to Chad we headed to my grandparents house again for dinner. It was delicious! Ham, funeral potatoes and my grandma's famous and coveted orange salad. We spent a little time with the Gough's that evening as well but it was a very long day.
I am happy that the true meaning of Christmas isn't presents. I know that the reason of the season is Jesus Christ, our Savior, who is the greatest gift we could receive.
